Saturday 12th November 2016
A fine effort this morning from Paul Vowles and the SMO. Paul played the Weber concerto with great assurance and musicianship, and the orchestra supported him really well. Thanks Paul! (He came all the way from Manchester specially for this rehearsal.)

22 orchestra members and friends gathered after FALO for the annual garden party. Fantastic weather again. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful offerings of food and particular thanks to Jill and Jenny for their tireless efforts during the afternoon...
Queen Anne's Weekend of Music - February 14th and 15th 2015
The orchestra's annual weekend of music was again held at Queen Anne's School, Caversham.
This year 54 members and visitors attended these sessions and rehearsed and performed Tchaikovsky's 6th Symphony and Berlioz's overture 'Le Corsair'

Queen Anne's Weekend of Music - February 15th and 16th
The orchestra's annual weekend of music was again held at Queen Anne's School, Caversham.
This year 65 members and visitors – our largest ever orchestra - attended these sessions and rehearsed and performed Elgar's mighty Symphony No. 1 in A flat and Brahms’ ever-popular Academic Festival Overture.
These numbers, and aspirations to perform major works such as these, are sure signs of the orchestra's progress.
Solo performance - Tony Copus performs Mozart's Horn Concerto No. 4 in Eb, K495
Tony joined the orchestra on Saturday 25th January to perform this most popular Horn Concerto.
Many thanks Tony for a wonderful performance and thanks Jerry for arranging the event....
